Welcome to PFOL Donna Kinkead and Ani Kendig.  We are happy to have you join us. We hope you enjoy your experiences with us!

PFOL NEWS

Our next book sale will be held on Saturday, May 9, from 10:00am to 2pm.  If you ae thinking of volunteering, set up is on Friday, May 8, from 9:00am to noon and Saturday hours will be from 9:00am to 3:00pm, which includes our book sales and clean-up and packing away books. We would love to have your help and the sharing of food for lunch on Saturday. Thank you devoted patrons for helping with our sales. We profited from our March efforts; $2,807.64 . We have such amazing volunteers as well as patrons.

Donations to our monthly meetings in the form of refreshments are always welcome. We are hoping to find a member who would like to contact volunteers to bring refreshment to our meetings. A few cookies to go with our coffee or tea offerings would be a special treat. No need for multiple kinds of treats. Our most heartfelt Thanks!

The Poetry Walks season has arrived and Fish Park has set up 10 additional poems for display for a total of 20 poems. Poems will be displayed during April and May. If you notice the poems damaged or otherwise misplaced, please let us know. We also hope that the addition of directional arrows are helpful.

                                 Literary Quotes for May

“At last the golden month of the wild folk-- honey-sweet May, when the birds come back, and the flowers come out, and the air is full of the sunrise scents and songs of the dawning year.”

― Samuel Scoville Jr., Wild Folk

“It’s genius simmering, perhaps. I’ll let it simmer, and see what comes of it,” he said, with a secret suspicion all the while that it wasn’t genius, but something far more common. Whatever it was, it simmered to some purpose, for he grew more and more discontented with his desultory life, began to long for some real and earnest work to go at, soul and body, and finally came to the wise conclusion that everyone who loved music was not a composer.”

― Louisa May Alcott, Little Women

“But he calls down a blessing on the blossom of the may,

Because it comes in beauty, and in beauty blows away.”

― W.B. Yeats, Stories of Red Hanrahan

“May is green and pink and red”

― Richard L. Ratliff
