We would love to have your help and the sharing of food for lunch on Saturday. We will have sign-up sheets at the April 6  and May 4 meetings for both volunteering and for tasty food donations. Thank you again for helping with our sales. We profited from our March efforts; $2,807.64 . We have such amazing volunteers as well as patrons. Sign up at a Meeting or call Carol (360 265-8132) or Karen (360 598-1922)

Donations to our monthly meetings in the form of refreshments are always welcome. We are hoping to find a member who would like to contact volunteers to bring refreshment to our meetings. A few cookies to go with our coffee or tea offerings would be a special treat. No need for multiple kinds of treats. Our most heartfelt Thanks!

In the past month PFOL has received several large monetary donations. We thank all of you who have kept us in your thoughts, individually and through the Kitsap Great Give.

The Poetry Walks season has arrived and Fish Park will be set up with 10 additional poems for display for a total of 20 poems. Poems will be displayed during April and May. If you notice the poems damaged or otherwise misplaced, please let us know.

                             Literary Quotes for April

“Snow in April is abominable," said Anne. "Like a slap in the face when you expected a kiss.”

― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Ingleside

“October knew, of course, that the action of turning a page, of ending a chapter or shutting a book, did not end the tale.
Having admitted that, he would also avow that happy endings were never difficult to find: "It is simply a matter," he explained to April, "of finding a sunny place in a garden, where the light is golden and the grass is soft; somewhere to rest, to stop reading, and to be content.”
― Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 4: Season of Mists

“ 'April, April, laugh thy girlish laughter, and the moment after, Weep thy girlish tears, April.' ”
― Angus Wilson, No Laughing Matter

“Springing into April with gratitude and love”
― Charmaine J. Forde
