Our September book sale returned
$2,955.93 for our efforts. Thank you one and all for your patronage. Our reasonably priced used books profit our
Library Branch in many ways. Programs and non-budget items that are not
included in Tax Payer funding are made available by our efforts and your
patronage. Books also are kept out of landfills and there are many excellent
non-fiction topics and fictionalized literature to enhance your reading
pleasure for a minimal amount of cash.
Our next book sale will be held in the Community Room on Saturday, November 14, from 10:00am to 2pm.
If you are thinking of volunteering, set up is on Friday November 13, from
9:00am to noon and Saturday sale hours will be from 9:00am to 3:00pm, which
includes our sales and the clean-up and packing away of books. We would love to
have your help and we share food for lunch on Saturday, if you care to bringing
something. If you have ordered or would
like to have a PFOL T-shirts, they will be available at the meeting.
We are beginning to plan for the PFOL Holiday Pot Luck to be held on Monday, December 7. Volunteers will be needed and requested at the October 5th General Meeting. You may be contacted by our Volunteer Co-Ordinator, Carol Larsen, if you leave a phone number or email.
KRL AND BRANCH NEWS
******As time moves on and the seasons change, so it is with
our Branch Manager, Pam Crowe, who will be retiring April 2nd, 2027.
Pam has been an excellent coordinator with us during our many changes and our
need for a dedicated partner. Thank you, Pam, from the bottom of our PFOL hearts.

As a reminder to you and others the current PFOL book sorting
area will be enjoying a refurbishment of shelving for our many book donations,
making sorting for book sales easier for those engaged in its preparation. The
Community Room will be given over to that preparation and will be used by PFOL
sorters and KRL facilities exclusively in January. The Community Room will be
closed to others. Shelving has been
ordered. Delivery will be in early
January. The sorting area floors will be also be cleaned, repaired and sealed.
PFOL board approved sharing costs with KRL for the reconditioning of the
concrete floors.
Because of the book sorting room refurbishment
and the planning needed prior to sorting room refurbishment and use of the
Community Room, there will be changes made to the 2027 PFOL Book Sales and General meeting
dates. Stay with us for
further information. We expect to have everything resolved before the November General
meeting and the book sale and will confirm at that time.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS NEWS
